Now let’s get to the good stuff –

13 Best Selling Cricut Projects You Can Make Today

Everyone has a budget and you might not have much to invest in getting your Cricut side hustle business going so we’re going to start with some popular low-cost items to make and sell for a profit.

1. Stickers

Stickers are ranking number 5 right now on Etsy search so there’s definitely a market that’s ready to buy. If you have a home printer and a Cricut you can start selling stickers for a fairly low start-up cost. Bonus – it’s a really easy project to get started with.

Hold your scroll before you start thinking well I’m not an artist and I can’t design stickers. You can buy designs from artists. My FAVORITE place to find sticker designs is at DesignBundles.net. Not only do they have a bunch of cute designs, but they also come with a commercial license.

If you have some design abilities or ideas for stickers you can buy the graphics you want and add your own wording or personal touches in Cricut Design Space.

13 Cricut Projects to Sell Today (2)

Another great place to find sticker designs is on Etsy. Just make sure you read the terms carefully, not all of them will allow you to make and sell the stickers, they may be for personal use only or give you an option to purchase a commercial license at an additional cost.

So now you have a cost-effective way to get designs, you’ll just need to buy printable vinyl/sticker paper and possibly self-adhesive laminating sheets or clear permanent vinyl if you want to sell waterproof stickers.

Expressions Vinyl has a great deal for a starter pack here. You’ll get the printable vinyl sheets plus the gloss laminate sheets to protect your stickers. After buying your designs and the starter pack you’ll be on your way to selling stickers for less than $30 invested in the cost of materials

2. Leather Earrings

Earrings rank number 6 for most searched on Etsy making them another great low-cost option to get started selling your Cricut crafts. You can make so many different kinds and they’re really easy to personalize.

13 Cricut Projects to Sell Today (3)

To get started making earrings you need a basic toolset, the earring hardware, and materials.

Typically earrings are made with faux leather that you can further personalize with Heat Transfer Vinyl. Or if you have a Cricut Maker you can cut wood earrings out of balsa or basswood. You can find both faux leather sheets and basswood (1/16″ thick) on Etsy.

You can find the earring hooks and tools in craft stores or on Amazon here.

3. Cake Toppers / Cupcake Toppers

Cupcake toppers are searched for an average of 8,000 times a month and cake toppers 27,000 times. That’s a lot of people looking for toppers!

The search for wedding cupcake or cake toppers is almost double that amount making them a high demand product.

13 Cricut Projects to Sell Today (4)

These are easily made with a Cricut, some fancy cardstock, and a skewer or toothpick. You can use Cricut’s Print then Cut feature to make all sorts of custom cupcake toppers. Like with the stickers you can purchase different designs from DesignBundles

Cake toppers are typically word cutouts that can easily be made in Design Space. Find toothpicks and wood skewers at your local grocery or here on Amazon.

One of the best things about cake and cupcake toppers is you can make a bunch of them fairly quickly.

4. 3D Paper Crafts

Paper Flowers and Paper Lanterns are both super popular with over 25,000 searches a month. With only the cost of designs, cardstock, and some glue you can get started selling 3D paper crafts quickly.

Paper lanterns have far less competition. Think of things people will use a paper lantern to decorate for such as weddings, baby showers, graduations, or birthdays.

13 Cricut Projects to Sell Today (6)

But you can’t deny the popularity of Paper flowers displays also. These are popular wall decor for homes, especially nurseries and little girl rooms. And wall decor is the number one searched-for item on Etsy. Add a name cutout to your paper flowers and you can also market it as personalized decor.

13 Cricut Projects to Sell Today (7)

You don’t have to limit yourself to flowers or lanterns. There are many 3d decor items you can make with cardstock, like bees, butterflies, and other animals. You should be able to find design files for most of these items on Etsy as well

5. Shirts

Ranking number 4 on Etsy search is shirts. Everyone loves graphic tees. People also look for shirts for special occasions like bridal showers, birthdays, school, and sports. (stick to generic sports so you don’t get a copyright violation for specific teams)

13 Cricut Projects to Sell Today (9)

You will have bigger start-up costs to make shirts. You’ll need a heat press like this one, shirts, heat transfer vinyl, and designs.

But you don’t have to break the bank making a bunch of shirts in various sizes and crossing your fingers that they will sell. It’s much more cost-effective to create mockups of your product and make the shirts as they’re ordered.

Bella Canvas brand shirts are the most popular to use for making custom tees. You can find good prices on them at Jiffy Shirts here or at Shirt Space here

The great thing about choosing a popular brand like Bella Canvas, number one is most people know their quality. But also you can find a ton of professional mockups in all of the colors on DesignBundles here. You can grab a big bundle for really cheap, or get some individual mockups that are more seasonal.

The Soccer Mom shirt shown above is an example of a mock-up using stock photos.

Once you have your equipment you can also branch out into other popular products that people are searching for like hats and sweatshirts.

6. Decals

Decals are similar to stickers but instead of using the print then cut feature, you’ll make decals by cutting colored vinyl. They rank number 34 in Etsy searches with an average of 25,000 searches a month.

13 Cricut Projects to Sell Today (11)

To make decals you’ll want to use a good permanent vinyl like Oracal 651 found here. And include the transfer tape on top of the vinyl so your customers can add their new decal wherever they like.

It’s also a good idea to include instructions in the package. We’ve all seen that car driving down the road that didn’t remove the transfer tape from the decal 🤦‍♀️

7. Tumblers/Cups/Mugs

This category includes can coolers, wine glasses, and water bottles too. Tumblers are number 41 on the Etsy Ranks and there are so many different tumblers you can do from glitter and epoxy to simply adding one of your vinyl decals.

13 Cricut Projects to Sell Today (12)

When making drinkware you can’t go wrong with adding personal names or funny/snarky sayings. Go to Etsy and search for tumbler, mug, or any of the above to get a good idea of the types of designs that are trending now.

For the best place to purchase drinkware, I really like Save-a-Cup here. They have some of the best prices I’ve seen and they stay on top of trending cups.

8. Wood Signs

Wood signs come in number 10 for Etsy searches and remember wall art and decor comes in at number one. Signs are another item that will have a slightly higher start-up cost, but you can also sell them at a higher price and make a larger profit making them a great Cricut project to sell.

You can go from motivational signs to snarky signs and everything in between.

Think of places people hang wall decor in their homes like Kitchens, Bathrooms, and Laundry Rooms. Like shirts, you can make mock-ups of your signs so you don’t have to keep a lot of inventory on hand.

9. Wood Block Shelf Sitters

These are similar to wood signs, except they’re smaller and can be set on a shelf.

They are super popular for tiered tray and home decor. The best part is they are smaller you can make more in a shorter amount of time. Plus you’ll have less investment to get started. Both of which will give you a higher profit.

13 Cricut Projects to Sell Today (14)

The cheapest way to make woodblock shelf sitters is to get your wood from a place like Lowes that sells lumber. Get the 2-inch wide boards so they will sit on a shelf well. They sell the wood in multiple lengths ranging from 6-12 feet so you will need a miter saw to cut them down to size.

10. KeyChains

Ranking at number 33 on Etsy, keychains are great gifts for new drivers and to give as gifts. They can be made out of acrylic or wood both of which you can find on Amazon here

Wristlet keychains are super trendy right now too. If you’re a sewer you can make the fabric wristlet strap and customize it with Heat Transfer Vinyl. Or you can get beaded wristlets with wood blanks for a great price at RCS Blanks found here. (they also have a lot more keychain blanks)

13 Cricut Projects to Sell Today (15)

11. Car Accessories

In addition to keychains, there are more car accessories you can make. Car Accessories rank number 37 in Etsy searches. Car coasters are popular and if you grab the sublimation blanks for car coasters (like these on Amazon) you can use Cricut Infusible ink on them.

13 Cricut Projects to Sell Today (16)

Rearview mirror accessories receive over 5,000 searches a month. If you have a Maker you can cut wood shapes with your knife blade and create some pretty cool rearview mirror signs. If you don’t have a Maker you can find cutout blanks to customize at places like woodpeckerscrafts.com

12. Personalized Gifts

I know personalized gifts is a very broad term. However, it’s always in the top 5 Etsy searches in one form or another.

Think of ways you can personalize any of the items above, shirts, keychains, tumblers, signs, car accessories etc. Everyone loves personalized things and handmade items making them one of the best Cricut project ideas to sell.

A word of caution if you are selling on Marketplace or person to person…… get your money UPFRONT. All of it. If listed on Etsy the customer will pay at the time of placing an order and that should be the same for everyone. You don’t want to be stuck with 20 personalized shirts you made for someone and you never hear from them again.

13. Seasonal Gifts

Again another broad term but as seasons get closer they hit the top of the list for searches. Though I don’t recommend selling a bunch of different items (read why in the surefire ways to make money with your Cricut post) think about how you could also make your items seasonal.

If you sell shirts, could you sell a shirt for Mother’s Day, Spring, Summer, 4th of July, Fall, Christmas etc. Don’t forget wedding season, bridal showers, and Valentine’s Day. The same idea works for signs, tumblers, and just about everything else.
