Skill Level
Beginner. These crochet Easter Basket and crochet Easter Eggs patterns use basic stitches in basic form and in simple repeats in rounds or rows.
- J/6 mm crochet hook – basket
- 7/ 4.5mm crochet hook – eggs
- worsted weight yarn in brown (2 strands held together) – basket
- worsted weight in pastel colors pink, purple, blue & yellow – eggs
- locking stitch markers
- tapestry needle
- Easter basket grass
- Poly Fil

Crochet Gauge
Easter Basket: 8 rows and 7 stitches= 2 inches
Easter Eggs: 6 rows and 7 stitches= 1 inch
- The Easter basket is made with two strands of yarn held together.
- This pattern starts with a magic circle.
- The beginning of each round/row starts with a chain which doesnotcount as your first stitch.
- Join in the round with a slip stitch to the first stitch made in that round.
- Repeat instructions between asterisks (*) for the remainder of the round.
- You are crocheting in the round.
- Basket is worked from the bottom up.
- dc = double crochet stitches
- hdc = half double crochet stitches
- sc = single crochet stitches
- hdc2tog = half double crochet 2 stitches together
- hdc3tog = half double crochet 3 stitches together
- st = stitch
- sts = stitches
- sl st = slip stitch
- ch = chain
- chs = chains
- rnd = round
- rnds = rounds
- rem = remaining
- blo = back loop only
- flo = front loop only
- ws = wrong side
- rs = right side

Crochet Easter Basket Pattern
- J/6 mm crochet hook
- 2 strands brown yarn held together
Rnd 1: Magic circle, ch 1, 6 sc, join with sl st in top of first sc (6)
Rnd 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each st, join (12)
Rnd 3: ch 1, *2 sc in the first stitch, sc in next st*, join (18)
Rnd 4: ch 1, *2 sc in the first st, sc in next 2 sts*, join (24)
Rnd 5: ch 1, *2 sc in the first st, sc in next 3 sts*, join (30)
Rnd 6: ch 1, *2 sc in the first st, sc in next 4 sts*, join (36)
Rnd 7: ch 1, *2 sc in the first st, sc in next 5 sts*, join (42)
Rnd 8: ch 1, *2 sc in the first st, sc in next 6 sts*, join (48)
Rnd 9: ch 1, *2 sc in the first st, sc in next 7 sts*, join (54)
Rnd 10: ch 1, *2 sc in the first st, sc in next 8 sts*, join (60)
Rnd 11: ch 1, *2 sc in the first st, sc in next 9 sts*, join (66)
Rnd 12: ch 1, *2 sc in the first st, sc in next 10 sts*, join (72)
Rnd 13: ch 1, sc in each st in the back loop only, join (72)
Rnds 14- 22: ch 1, sc in each st, join (72)
Do not fasten off. Begin the basket handle where you left off after round 21
Crochet Easter Basket Handle
Row 1: ch 1, sc in 6 sts, turn (6)
Rows 2-51: ch 1, sc in 6 sts, turn (6)
Your handle should be approximately 14 inches long.
Use your tapestry needle to sew the handle to the 6 stitches on the opposite side of the basket.
You should have 30 stitches between the handle on each side. Weave in all of your ends.
Fill your basket with Easter basket grass.
Crochet Easter Egg Pattern
Rnd 1: Magic circle, ch 1, 6 sc, join with sl st in top of first sc (6)
Rnd 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each st, join (12)
Rnd 3: ch 1, *2 sc in the first stitch, sc in next st*, join (18)

Rnd 11: ch 1, sc in each st, join (18)

Stuff with Poly Fil.
Rnd 13: ch 1, *sc2tog, sc in the next st, join (12)
Rnd 14: ch 1, sc in each st, join (12)
Rnd 15: ch 1, *sc2tog*, join (6)
Use your tapestry needle to sew the remaining 6 stitches together.
Weave in all of your ends.
