RIGHT DURING THE EVENING, WLWT, WLWT, NEWS FIVE’S GIACOMO LUCA LISTENED TO THOSE 911 CALLS, OFFERED SOME NEW DETAILS ABOUT JUST HOW CHAOTIC THE SCENE WAS, AND AGAIN, WE’RE GETTING NEW INFORMATION NOW ABOUT THOSE VICTIMS. HI, GIACOMO. HI, SHEREE. HI, MIKE. THE BUTLER COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE JUST RELEASING THE NAMES OF THE THREE VICTIMS INVOLVED IN THAT CRASH. WE LEARNED 65 YEAR OLD GREGORY MEYER, AS WELL AS 52 YEAR OLD NICOLE COLLINS AND 52 YEAR OLD MICHAEL PELTON, ALL INVOLVED, AND DIED IN THAT CRASH JUST LAST NIGHT. NOW, THE WEST CHESTER POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASED 911 CALLS EARLY THIS MORNING FROM THE INCIDENT. SEVERAL WITNESSES TELLING 911 THEY SAW AN SUV SPEEDING THE WRONG WAY AND NEARLY COLLIDING WITH THEM NORTH ON COX ROAD BEFORE SLAMMING HEAD-ON INTO ANOTHER CAR. NOW LISTEN TO WHAT THESE WITNESSES TOLD. 911. AN SUV I’M PRETTY SURE IT WAS FULL BORE. I DON’T KNOW, BUT HE WAS REALLY FLYING AND HIT ANOTHER CAR HEAD ON THERE. THE CAR LIKE SPLIT IN HALF. THERE’S GOT TO BE DEATHS. THERE HAS TO BE A MAROON SUV THAT IS DRIVING THE WRONG DIRECTION ERRATICALLY. UM, I SEE ABOUT HIT ME HEAD ON AND ABOUT HIT SEVERAL OTHERS HEAD ON AND HE DID HIT SOMEBODY HEAD ON. NOW, THE WEST CHESTER POLICE DEPARTMENT SAYS THIS INCIDENT ALL STARTED ABOUT HALF A MILE THAT WAY OVER THE VOICE OF AMERICA CENTER. A LITTLE STRIP MALL IN THAT AREA. APPARENTLY THERE WAS A CRASH RIGHT BEFORE THAT. NO INJURIES. AND RELATED TO THAT SUV. STILL UNCLEAR WHY EXACTLY THAT SUV WAS DRIVING ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD. The Butler County Coroner's Office has identified the three people killed in a crash in West Chester on Sunday.The crash happened around 6 p.m. Sunday on Cox Road near Service Center Drive, with an investigation shutting down traffic for hours.Officials said there were two crashes involving a wrong-way driver around that time.Police said the wrong-way driver struck a vehicle near the VOA Shopping Center. No one was injured in the first crash.Officials said the wrong-way driver then went on to strike another vehicle near Service Center Drive, resulting in the three deaths.On Monday evening, the Butler County coroner identified the three people killed as 65-year-old Gregory Meyer of Middletown, 52-year-old Patrick Michael Pelton of Liberty Township and 52-year-old Nicole Collins of Liberty Township. The Ross Local School District referred to Nicole as Nicole Pelton and said she was a teacher at Ross Middle School for 22 years.Police said three vehicles were involved in the crash and were left with severe damage. One car was left flipped upside down on the side of the street.The 911 calls detailed what people saw as the driver was traveling the wrong way. According to police, Meyer was the person operating the car that was driving in the wrong direction leading up to the crash.
