What happens when you give a rape victim a can of some high grade pepper spray?
Half the town goes blind.A ridiculous film with a laughable screenplay and poor acting except for the lady with an agenda, which again does not do anything to save the film from complete annihilation.
And what the hell is a TV-Movie anyway?

It has been a CRAZY few weeks at work so naturally I wanted something incredibly random to watch and Black Car did the trick.
Honestly, this was not nearly as terrible as I was expecting. The dialogue wasn't great and the plot was very predictable, but somehow I found myself surprisingly invested in this movie. I'm not sure if it was because a story like this seemed super relevant in 2016, or if I'm just a sucker for basic thrillers.
Danielle Savre was tremendous as always and I'm still waiting for the day for her to start getting better roles. That being said, Trudy's best friend in the movie does something absolutely wild (trying not to spoil) and for that moment I'll also give Francia Raisa some props as well.
Black Car isn't even close to the worst movie I've seen, so if you go in with some low expectations, you might end up enjoying this little thriller.

really truly made by someone in the media school

This was actually a lot better than the train wreck I thought it would be.
Danielle Savre was very good in the lead and she did a great job expressing Trudy’s pain, hurt and anguish (several times I just wanted to give her a hug). I could see the twists coming a mile away, but the ending was still very satisfying. For a Lifetime movie, this was a welcome surprise.
Grade: B

This was horrible. I can’t wait to watch it again. I am convinced someone at the media school turned this in as a homework assignment.

This exactly why I try to avoid any contact as possible with the driver (including accepting anything from them- thankfully has never happened to me) and always have my guard up to think of a way out in an uber!🫠

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Aka: Black Car
Aka: Vehicle for RevengeNo matter how you repackage it...it's MarVista & Lifetime schlock. The underlying plot is solid & a good reminder:
...be sure to verify that the car you're getting into - is the one on the app.
I could dive into the silliness of the plot, but I watch a lot of Lifetime junk...so, I guess the dumber the better. I will say, the gang-bangers with the "heart of gold," who helped our plucky victim apprehend the rapist, were fun...
...the rapist - who knew he was the prime suspect - STILL took victims to the same hotel knowing that he was under surveillance. Not his fault...sloppy writing.

Felt a bit like a lifetime movie. No real catharsis

Ok, so I thought this was a David DeCoteau movie, but it wasn’t. Definitely no Vivica A. Fox in it. Seriously, if there’s a movie with “wrong” in the title it should be a David DeCoteau movie.
